Introduction to Graphic Design, Ohio University, Spring 2021
Investigates the creation of meaning through visual forms: typography, image generation and manipulation, sign/symbol/icon, and visual contrasts. Includes conceptual thinking and creative problem-solving in the integration of meaning and content in the construction of visual form. Emphasis on the use of current graphic generating technologies.

This class was taught virtually over a seven-week period. 


Image + Design, Ohio University,  Spring 2021
Explores the making of still, moving, informational, and visual culture investigations of images, image systems, and cultural contexts. Students are introduced to lens-based, digital, and analog processes for creating imagery, explorations of various techniques and technologies, as well as applications of color theory.

Description + Drawing, Ohio University, Summer, 2020
Introduces drawing and other description processes as an expansive practice and a means for developing perceptual and conceptual thinking skills. Various methods of image-making, three-dimensional modeling, and data-mapping are used as tools for observation and expression. 
 

Teaching Experience (Teaching Assistant)
Media, Ohio University, (assisted Mark Franz), Fall 2020
Time-based study of motion, light, and sound with emphasis on Web communication and design. Development of working methodologies specific to the nonlinear construction of information for Web-based media technologies. 
 
Image + Design, Ohio University, (assisted Mateo Galvano), Spring 2020
Explores the production and design of representational, abstract, and symbolic images. 

 
Structure + Space, Ohio University, (assisted Katherine Hampel), Fall 2019
Explores the use of structure and space as physical, conceptual, and organizational practices in contemporary art and design. Students develop their ideas through composition and fabrication, considering issues such as scale, site-specificity, repetition, impermanence, and performativity.

Lead and taught art classes for young children ages four to eleven.  Researched and studied specific artists to help children learn and develop new skills.

School of Art + Design Web Content Designer, Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, 2021-2022

Collaborating with the Ohio University College of Fine Arts to collect data and develop a graphic design website through the Ohio University Drupal platform that will later be developed into a template for other art areas to build of their own. Assisted to build, organize, and archive the old graphic design web content containing data and images from previous alumni and current MFA and BFA students. Working with Squarespace, Webflow, and Drupal.

Graphic Illustrator, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, 2019-2022 
Completed a commission of 480 illustrations for National Institute of Health intervention grant application and pilot studies on children’s comprehension abilities with language impairment. One of the tasks kids complete involves their looking at an image in which two people or animals are interacting and listening to a corresponding sentence.

Public Relation Representative for Graphic Design, Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, 2020-2022
Coordinating promotions and informational tools to recruit possible students to the Graphic Design MFA graduate program. Creating marketing materials and student events to highlight the excitement of being an Ohio University Graphic Design student. Ran the social media and nonprofit website for the members of the organization, assisted the President in leading artist paint classes, collaborated with different universities in the Pacific Northwest to gather student members, and curated a solo student exhibition at Essentia in Seattle.
 
Student Curator, Florence University of the Arts (FUA), Florence, Italy, 2014
Worked with a professor and three students to collaborate five different exhibitions for local Florentine artists and students. Managed professional relationships with the artists, set-up and took-down instructions, worked closely with the FUA press office to create press releases and articles for Blending, and entertained guest at the exhibition.
